User Experience Designer

Description:
Zilliant is expanding their Zilliant Precision Pricing Suite (ZPPS) product development organization. We are looking for a highly skilled and creative individual to join our world-class Product Engineering Organization. This individual should possess senior-level user experience design skills with an exceptionally strong background and formal training in user interface design, graphic design and/or human-computer interaction (HCI). As a User Experience Designer at Zilliant, you will have an opportunity to create best-in-class, innovative user interfaces for our state-of-the-art pricing applications.

This critical and highly visible role offers opportunities to design suite-wide user interface metaphors, information architecture, elegant interactions, and data visualizations to provide real-world pricing solutions for Fortune 500 companies.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide user interface designs for the Zilliant application suite of pricing products
• Iterate with Product Management on requirements gathering and design process
• Consult with Architects and Engineers on design and implementation
• Develop and maintain a User Experience Standards guide for use by the development organization
• Develop wireframes and other design artifacts using Visio or other tools
• Design and maintain the application’s look and feel through full-color mockups, asset creation, and UI reviews
• Develop conceptual software prototypes/mockups using HTML, Photoshop, and other tools
• Lead/participate in user research, concept testing, and usability testing
• Collaborate effectively with the other members of the User Experience team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Graphic Design, Industrial Design or related field
• 5+ years experience as an User Experience Designer (or similar role)
• Strong background and formal training in user interface design, graphic design and/or human-computer interaction (HCI)
• Expertise in Web/UI design tools and techniques (Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, Visio, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Expertise in principles of Web site and application GUI design
• Experience working w/ highly technical teams
• Strong leadership skills with passionate advocacy for the end-user
• Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Candidate should provide User Interface samples demonstrating past experience

Desirable Skills:

• Software company work experience
• Enterprise application design experience
• Work with JSP and Java Swing front-ends; DHTML and AJAX; and/or Windows Desktop Applications
• Interface design for mobile devices
• Exposure to Agile development processes
