Pricing Scientist
Description:
The primary role of this position is to ensure that the price segmentation, demand modeling and optimization capabilities of Zilliants solutions are effectively exploited during implementation, so that the customer achieves the expected benefits while achieving its project cost and timeline objectives.
This role is discharged by personally executing, independently or under the direction of a Zilliant senior scientist, data analysis, price segmentation design, and optimization model configuration. In addition, the pricing scientist is expected to innovate and provide guidance to Zilliants product management and product development staff.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis and cleansing
- Conduct segmentation analysis and define optimization model configuration
- Validate results and performance of as-built client solutions
- Develop and deliver presentations to customers related to the optimization aspects of Zilliants solution, insights from analysis of customer data, and recommendations regarding alternative approaches
- Participate in margin improvement measurements activities
Requirements:
Skills and Experience:
- Masters degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics or related discipline; advanced degrees in business ,marketing, or finance a preferred
- In depth academic exposure to, and/or one to two years experience in
- Pricing and revenue optimization techniques
- Data mining, statistical, optimization or other relevant modeling experience,
- Dealing with large data sets and developing analytic software using SQL and statistical tools (e.g. JMP, R, Tanagra or similar)
- Ability to work with teams of professionals
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and prospects
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Academic or industry experience in B2B or B2C pricing and revenue optimization
- Experience in developing industrial-strength software, which employs operations research or statistical/econometric techniques, methods and algorithms
- Industry experience in B2B distribution, B2B discrete manufacturing, transportation, hospitality, and/or financial services is desired
