Joyce Chung is a founding partner of Cardinal Venture Capital. Prior to forming Cardinal Venture Capital, Joyce managed venture investments for Adobe Ventures. Her portfolio companies included Vignette (Nasdaq: VIGN), e-business applications for building online businesses; DigitalThink (Nasdaq: DTHK), e-learning solution provider to Fortune 1000 companies; Digimarc (Nasdaq: DMRC), digital watermark technologies and applications; and Virage (Nasdaq: VRGE), searchable video technology. Joyce sits on the board of Live Capital and Figure 8 Wireless and is a board observer at Mobilygen.
Chairman and CEO, Securify
Buck French joined the Securify board of directors in March of 2004, and was named CEO and Chairman in December 2004. His prior start-up experience was co-founder and CEO of OnLink Technologies, where he grew the company from two to 210 employees, secured funding of more than $37 million and won significant contracts with Fortune 2000 companies. In August of 2000 Siebel Systems acquired OnLink for $609M. While at Siebel, Mr. French was the Vice President and General Manager of the Interactive Selling Group. Under his leadership this area grew to be the third largest business unit at Siebel. Most recently, Mr. French was a Partner at JPMorgan Partners where he was involved with software investing. He earned his MBA from Harvard University and his BS degree in Economics and General Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Principal, Panorama Capital
Mr. Jung focuses on software and internet investments at Panorama Capital, a venture firm formed by the JPMorgan Partners venture team. Mr. Jung joined JPMorgan Partners in 2003. Previously, he was vice president of corporate strategy and development at the Exigen Group. Mr. Jung also served as vice president of strategic corporate development for Ask Jeeves, Inc., where he led the company’s M&A and strategic partnership efforts. He has also advised a variety of high technology companies as an investment banker with BancBoston Robertson Stephens and as an attorney with Gunderson Dettmer. Mr. Jung holds a J.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California, Berkeley.
Co-Founder, Trellis Partners
Prior to founding Trellis Partners, John served as a partner of Dakota Venture Management Company. Previously, he was with Southwest Venture Partners where his primary investment focus was early-stage information technology projects. He eventually became responsible for the company's most successful investments, including Chipcom, Dell Computer, Surgical Laser Technologies, Pilot Software, and Garden Ridge. John also serves as a Director of Wayport, Baseball Express and BetweenMarkets.
Chairman, President and CEO, Zilliant
Greg Peters is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Zilliant, Inc. Greg is also a member of the board of directors at Planview and Surgient. Greg previously served as president and chief executive officer of Vignette and Logic Works, Inc. Prior to Logic Works, Inc. Greg served as controller and chief financial officer for Micrografx, Inc. and held several financial positions at DSC Communications Corporation.
General Partner, Austin Ventures
John Thornton joined Austin Ventures in 1991 and focuses on the firm's Software investment area. Previously, John was with McKinsey & Co., where he served clients in the U.S. and Europe. He has worked with companies such as Active Power, Dazel, Metasolv, Mission Critical, Vignette, Motive, Pentasafe, and Waveset.
