Greg oversees all of Zilliant’s operations, including its strategic direction, product planning and development, as well as its financial management. Under Greg’s leadership, Zilliant has grown into one of the leading providers in predictive B2B sales guidance and has pioneered new approaches for companies to harness the power of Big Data. Prior to Zilliant, Greg served as president and CEO of Vignette, the leading content management company and one of the most successful initial public offerings in 1999. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Logic Works, Inc. and controller and chief financial officer for Micrografx, Inc. Greg sits on the board of directors at LiquidFrameworks and Rhodes College, and is an accomplished industry speaker who has appeared at numerous leading industry events.
Maria leads the marketing program and is responsible for transforming marketing into a key driver of growth for the company. Responsibilities include: growth strategies, company positioning, demand generation, product marketing, business intelligence, corporate communications, website and online presence. She pairs a data-driven approach with a passion for brand building to drive measurable business results. Maria brings extensive experience leading global marketing programs at major technology companies. Prior to joining Zilliant, she was the Chief Marketing Officer at Drillinginfo. Prior to that she held marketing leadership positions at Dell, Honeywell and Freescale. At Drillinginfo, Maria successfully transformed the marketing function into a strategic business partner, driving new business revenue and customer retention over the last three years.
Rick leads Zilliant’s Customer Success team. Customer Success works with every customer to maximize the value they achieve with their Zilliant footprint, every year. For more than 25 years, Rick has helped his customers, both internal and external, use technology to deliver enhanced business results in a variety of consultative roles – from leading SAP implementations at Accenture to managing hosting of Ariba SaaS solutions to internal IT management. In his years at Zilliant, Rick has worked with both manufacturers and distributors in industries ranging from electrical components to coatings to agricultural products and is always happy to share insights with customers on what steps make for the most successful, impactful predictive optimization projects. Rick is a Prosci-certified Change Management practitioner and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Akron.
Shams leads Zilliant’s engineering team, managing the development of the company’s innovative and scalable software products and overseeing the delivery operations of its applications in data centers globally. He has extensive experience building and managing onshore and offshore engineering teams at NewComLink, SolarWinds, Brocade, FullArmor Corporation and NetIQ. Prior to joining Zilliant in 2016, Chauthani was vice president of engineering for NewComLink, a financial technology platform that provides a full spectrum of financing options to connect retailers with multiple lenders. While there, he was responsible for leading corporate strategic initiatives and transitioning the organization from a project-based to a platform-based business strategy. Shams believes in leading by example through empowering his team with the right tools to be successful, and measuring results. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Houston and an executive certificate in innovation and strategy from MIT.
Pete brings 20 years of product strategy experience, helping Fortune 500 companies harness Big Data to improve business performance. As Senior Vice President of Products and Science, Pete is responsible for leading Zilliant’s R&D efforts and defining the product lifecycle and requirements. Prior to Zilliant, Pete served as Vice President of Product Marketing at Yclip. Prior to Yclip, Pete managed KD1’s highly scalable data mining and decision support applications used by Walgreens, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Pepsi/Frito Lay. He also worked at Kelly Information Systems where he oversaw product development and implementation of their multi-terabyte data warehouse analytics product line. In addition, Pete has worked in consulting and product development roles with Category Management, Inc. and Procter & Gamble. He earned his B.B.A. in Quantitative Analysis and Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati.
Phil has over 25 years of senior leadership experience within a variety of technology companies. Most recently as President and CFO of Bask Technologies where he helped to re-energize the consumer technology firm, leading to a successful sale. He also served as CEO, COO and CFO for FuelQuest, a fuel supply chain software company, which he guided to a series of successful exits. Other roles include President & CEO of Visual Numerics, Inc., COO and CFO of Brightmail, Inc., and financial management positions at Cahners Business Information Electronic Media Division, Pilot Software, and Dun & Bradstreet. He’s been a key advisor to several emerging, fast-growth organizations and previously served as an Executive in Residence at the Houston Technology Center. Phil has extensive private equity, venture capital, M&A, and international business expansion experience. He holds an MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester and a BS in computing engineering from Auburn University.
Greg leads Zilliant’s global sales team, where he is responsible for the company’s sales strategy, revenue growth and sales process. Greg brings more than 20 years of Software industry experience to his role. He has a consistent record of exceeding performance objectives in sales and sales management roles, and specializes in effectively developing and articulating complex solutions for c-level executives. Most recently, Greg was the VP of Worldwide Sales for IBM Pricing Solutions, responsible for SaaS sales, the sales process and strategy, International market development, and customer renewals. Prior to his role with IBM, Greg was the the Vice President of Sales for DemandTec. Greg previously held sales and sales management roles at Hyperion Solutions (now Oracle Retail), NCR’s Retail Solutions group, and Sybase (now SAP). Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Florida.
Joe leads Zilliant’s Partner program, where he is responsible for the building strategic alliances with consulting and technology partners around the world. Joe brings 18 years of software and pricing industry experience, helping global companies maximize their technology investment and ROI. In his 14 years at Zilliant, Joe has held various leadership roles in professional services, presales, channels, and sales operations, as well as leading many international projects in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Prior to Zilliant, Joe led Global Pricing at BMC Software. Prior to BMC Software, he worked at AIG where he led efforts in corporate initiatives. Joe holds a master’s degree in business from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso.
John leads Zilliant’s Services team, which is responsible for ensuring our customers derive value from Zilliant solutions and achieve planned financial improvements. John has worked in the SaaS world for the past 11 years with DemandTec and IBM. During that time, he helped multiple Fortune 500 customers go live with Big Data and analytics applications, including companies such as Walmart and Office Depot in the United States, Pao de Azucar in Latin America, and Casino in Europe. Before that, John managed a group of consultants at Ariba that built online marketplaces for business-to-business ecommerce. These marketplaces were backed by large companies such as Cargill and JC Penney. Prior to that, he worked for Deloitte Consulting. John earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Lee leads the science team at Zilliant, where he is responsible for the development and implementation of Zilliant’s science methodologies across the full suite of product offerings. Lee has a passion for all things data science, statistical computing and optimization. Over the past decade, he has a proven track record of transforming data into measurable financial results. Prior to Zilliant, Lee was a quantitative risk manager at JPMorgan Chase where he helped define the bank’s risk capital methodologies following the 2008 financial crisis. He holds an MS and BS in Operations Research from Columbia University and an MS in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
Michel Safi leads the Zilliant international teams, primarily in charge of further developing the markets for Zilliant. Michel was most recently leading the IBM Merchandising Solutions global sales organization. At DemandTec, acquired by IBM in 2012, Michel was responsible for making sure the company’s unique value proposition was aligned with its customer’s strategic priorities, business needs and financial requirements. He managed cross-functional teams and worked closely with customer resources to ensure the design and delivery of holistic and tailored solutions across customer operations and geographies. Michel played an instrumental role in launching the international business of DemandTec, broadening its reach and deepening its client relationships when he joined the company in 2005. Michel has deep expertise in Cloud Computing & SaaS, Analytics, Enterprise Software, Business Intelligence, and Business Strategy. Michel holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ESCP Europe and an Engineering degree in Computer Science. He currently resides in Paris, France.
Barrett leads the Business Solutions Consultant team, aligning Zilliant solutions to customer needs and promoting pricing and sales best practices among our customers. Over the past two decades, Barrett has built and delivered optimization and pricing solutions to Fortune 500 businesses in diverse vertical industries including building materials manufacturing and distribution, industrial components manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, office-supply distribution, hardware-software distribution, pharmaceutical and medical-device distribution, telecommunications, and multiple travel & transportation verticals. He has held management positions at multiple software enterprises including Manugistics, Revenue Technologies, Talus Solutions and AtWork Technologies. Barrett is a frequent speaker and author on achieving rapid, sustainable profitability improvements through the application of pricing science. Barrett received both his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and his Master of Science in Operations Research from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
