Software Engineer – Python Developer | Austin

Zilliant is currently searching for a Software Engineer to join our Austin team. This individual should be confident in their coding ability to deliver scalable and maintainable features in a timely manner. The candidate will be heavily involved in the development life cycle of product features.

We are looking for someone who has a strong scripting background and is passionate about solving technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Work within a Development team developing python-based applications
• Decompose feature requests into sizable pieces of work with informed estimates
• Write scalable and maintainable code
• Ensure coding best practices through code review feedback
• Communicate technical challenges and provide well-thought-out solutions
• Become a subject matter expert (go-to person) for a part of a product
• Debug critical production issues, giving root cause analysis

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or experience in a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Python
• 3+ years of experience developing productized software applications
• 3+ years of scripting background
• Self-driven and passionate for learning new technologies and solving problems
• Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred:

• Experience developing Python applications

• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks
• Familiarity or experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
• Worked under Agile methodologies: plan, estimate, deadlines, goals
• Team leadership experience or desire to lead a development team
