At Zilliant, Sofia leads the global team of data scientists and application consultants who bring their quantitative or engineering backgrounds, paired with solid consulting experience, to deliver outstanding applications that empower Zilliant’s customers to successfully solve their unique pricing and sales challenges. Sofia’s team also devotes time to research and development activities, continuous methodology and platform innovation, and close collaboration with the Zilliant product and engineering teams to increase the value of the software and science provided to customers. Sofia holds a doctorate in Industrial Engineering and brings more than 20 years of experience in designing and building decision-support tools across a wide range of industries.
 
Prior to joining Zilliant in 2017, Sofia served as a senior consultant at EY, focusing on business modelling, analytics, and operational research. 

Core to Sofia’s background is her career in academia as researcher and lecturer. She held academic positions in Industrial Engineering at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and in Biochemical Engineering at University College London, UK. Her innovative work led to multiple peer-reviewed publications in the areas of assembly line balancing and biopharma process optimization.
